FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about booking, trials and your wedding morning.

BOOKING

How far in advance should I book?

Most of my brides book around 12 months ahead, and popular summer dates can be booked up to 16 months in advance. If your wedding is sooner, do still get in touch, as I sometimes have dates available.

How do I book?

It's simple. Fill in the enquiry form and tell me a little about your day, so I can make sure we're the right fit. I'll then send you a personal proposal with everything you need to know, including your quote. If you're happy, just click "Accept" and I'll send you the details of the date-holding fee. Your date is secured once that's received. Until then, it stays available to other couples.

Do you have a minimum booking?

Yes. Each wedding has a minimum package, which depends on the season and the day of the week. I take just one wedding a day, so your day is exclusively yours. You'll find all the details on my Services page.

Do you travel to my venue?

Yes. Travel within Cornwall is included. For weddings further afield, including destination weddings, travel is calculated individually and included in your proposal.

Can you start early?

Yes, early starts are possible. Depending on the time and the distance I'm travelling, there may be an additional charge, which I'll include in your proposal.

YOUR HAIR TRIAL

Do you offer a hair trial?

Yes, and it's included in your bridal package. Your trial is a relaxed, hands-on appointment of up to 2.5 hours at my studio in Newquay. We'll perfect your chosen style, try a few variations and refine the final look, so you leave feeling prepared, confident and excited for the day.

If coming to the studio isn't possible, we can plan and finalise your look together over video call instead, so everything is thoughtfully prepared long before your wedding morning.

When should I have my hair trial?

I recommend having your trial around 6–12 weeks before the wedding. I know many of my brides travel from all over the UK, so we'll find a time that works with your plans. Trials take place at my studio in Newquay, and many of them happen between January and March, my quieter season.

How should I prepare for my trial?

Please come with squeaky-clean, completely dry hair, ideally washed that morning. Avoid any styling products, and don't curl or straighten it. Bring any accessories you already have, and your veil if you've got it. You'll find more tips in my blog post on trial and hair preparation.

Do I need hair extensions?

Not always, but most half-up, half-down styles are created with extensions for extra length and volume. If you don't have any, we can try my sets at your trial, and I'll guide you on what to buy and where. If you're having extensions fitted for the wedding (tapes, bonds or other types), please have them in for your trial so we can plan your style around them.

ON THE DAY

Can you do my bridesmaids and family too?

Of course. Your package includes you and some of your bridal party, and more people can be added where timings allow. I'll plan a timetable with you beforehand, so the morning runs smoothly and everyone can relax.

How long does it take, and how many people can you look after?

I allow 90 minutes for the bride, so there's never any rush, and around 50–60 minutes for each bridesmaid or guest. I aim to finish all hairstyles and final touches an hour before you leave for your ceremony, giving you time to get dressed, enjoy photos with family and friends, and speak to your registrar. So the number of people I can look after depends on your ceremony time, and I'll plan a timetable with you to make it work.

Can I change my hairstyle for the evening?

Absolutely. My Full-Day VIP Styling is designed for exactly that. I stay with you after the ceremony for touch-ups, and can create a completely new look for the evening.

What if it's windy or raining?

I'll do everything I can to secure your hairstyle so it holds beautifully, but I can't control the Cornish weather! For real peace of mind, After-Ceremony Styling Support or Full-Day VIP Styling means I'll be on hand to touch up or restyle your hair as needed.

Can you recommend a makeup artist?

Yes. I love working with some wonderful local makeup artists, and I'm always happy to recommend someone who suits your style. Just ask.
